We’re Not Going to Pack Your Mailbox with Mailers
We have been out talking to neighbors every day about our campaign and the one issue that keeps coming up are the mailers other campaigns are sending. One campaign seems to be sending one every single day. Another campaign likes to trick people into thinking it’s not a campaign mailer until you open it up and surprise! It’s a mailer. Let me make this promise right now that we are not going to pack your mailbox with mailers and we are not going to try and trick you into thinking something isn’t a mailer.
Our campaign is about being honest with people, showing up at your door, and talking to you face to face. We feel like this is what's most needed right now, some honest conversations on people’s front porches. This state has been controlled by party bosses, special interest groups, and the random self-funded rich guy for way too long. We’re working every day to help change that and to make sure everyday people have better representation in Springfield.
I go out every afternoon, every day of the week, and knock on doors. I do this because I believe that we can solve many of our state’s problems through face to face conversations. Not hidden behind screens or swayed by money. This isn’t to minimize the seriousness of our state’s issues. I sincerely believe that we can solve those issues by talking to people face to face.
One of the questions you get asked all of the time when you run for office is “why should I vote for you?” Look, I think all of the other candidates in this race are good people. They’ve all served our state in different ways. I think what sets our campaign apart are the decades of work I have done as a grassroots organizer. I’m proud of the work that I have done in our community, founding organizations like the Logan Square Arts Festival and Kosciuszko Park Advisory Council. But I’m just as proud of all the work that I have done volunteering my time to countless political campaigns and progressive causes for over 30 years.
This is not a campaign for the politically connected.
This is a campaign for the grinders.
